The Bible clearly states that the place of the devil is under the feet of the believer in Christ (Rom. 16: 20), it clearly establishes that we have been given the power and authority over the devil (Luke 9:1, Luke 10:19) -It says Jesus gave us power over all devils and over all the power of the enemy! However, many Christians still have a ‘secret respect (fear)’ for the devil. Bible says the serpent was more subtle (Gen. 3:1) -not more powerful… hear this, you can beat the devil!
Col 2:15 says “And having spoiled (stripped) principalities and powers, He (Jesus) made a show of them openly (He put them to open shame), triumphing over them in it” Think about these scenarios- If you, a tongue-talking Christian, go out early in the morning and see a calabash of sacrifice in the middle of the street, or you hear some strange sounds in the middle of the night… If you physically come across occult people, practices, materials e.t.c what will you do? In fact, reading this has made some people afraid not to talk of experiencing it- Why should you be afraid of the devil that is under your feet!(James 4:7). Read Gen. 3:15b – “it (the seed of man) shall bruise thy (the serpent, the devil) head and thou shalt bruise his heel”… Can you dare to play this as a game? - You and your friend should go barefooted, then, match his leg as hard as you can, use the whole of your strength! After this, put down your head and let him match it as hard as he can- I doubt if you will live to tell the story! Just the same way, you have been empowered to always beat the devil hands down! The key however, to beat the devil hands down in all situations and at all times is written in James 4:7- “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”(KJV)… Other translations render it thus: Be subject therefore unto God (ASV); Be ruled by God (BBE). That’s all you need! Submit yourself to God, be subject to Him and be ruled by Him… and the God of peace shall bruise (crush) the adversary under your feet shortly (quickly, speedily, before long). Are you willing to submit yourself to God today? To be subject to Him and to be ruled by Him? Say this short prayer
