Life is the functional time of existence. When you refer to a battery as “dead”, you may still see the physical battery; but you make reference to the fact that there is no charge functional in it. Same with humans, when you say a person is dead, the physical body may still be present, but you refer to the fact that there is no life functional in that body anymore.
Again, Life is a bridge! Sometimes long, sometimes short; life is both competitive and noncompetitive; both challenging and not challenging: Horrifying, but at theame time, alluring… The list can never stop! This bridge begins at birth and ends at death. The other side is the afterlife, otherwise called eternity.
There are many adversaries, obstacles and traps on this bridge, called life BUT there is ONE ONLY TRUE AND ULTIMATE ESCORT- Jesus Christ who is ever willing and ready to be your companion on this bridge if you invite Him to do so. When you invite Him to join you as you journey though life- even though you walk through the darkest valley, you will fear no evil, He is with you always; His rod and His staff, they comfort you.
See what the Bible says in Psalm 46
1God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
4There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
7The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
8Come and see what the Lord has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.
10He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
11The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Moreso, this bridge is full of gross darkness, and only Jesus can lighten your path as you journey through life.
Matthew 4: 13-16
Leaving Nazareth, he (Jesus) went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:
“Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali,
the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the Gentiles—
the people living in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.”
I have invited him to come and live in me also, like he did in Capernaum, so that he cam lighten my path; I have surrendered to His as my Lord and Savior, and my life attests and is a testimony of His Grace and Mercy!!!
Won't you also invite Him to lead, guide and accompany you as you go through this bridge called life? To do so, say this short prayer.
