Daily Tonic || The Storms Of Life (5)

Text- Psalm 93:4 – “The LORD rules supreme in heaven, greater than the roar of the ocean, more powerful than the waves of the sea.”

I hope you have been blessed thus far with this series on how to victoriously handle the storms of life. We have talked about the importance of introspection, faith, trusting and fully relying on God, and about the place of the anointing.

Today, I want to show you another account of how the disciples dealt with storm in the Bible.

“When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. When they had rowed about three or four miles,[b] they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were frightened. But he said to them, ‘It is I; don’t be afraid.’ Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.” – John 6:16-21

While the disciples of Jesus were on their way to Capernaum, John records that the sea was getting rough, because a great wind was blowing; then they willingly received Jesus into the boat, and immediately, the boat was at the land; where they were going!

Can you imagine! Just like that, without struggle! Jesus stepped into their boat and the storm was no longer an issue. This is the question I want to ask you today, is Jesus in the boat of your life?

Beloved, I have mentioned to you that storms are inevitable in life; in fact, the higher you go in life, the tougher the storms, but you must always remember as a Christian, that Jesus is in your boat, so you cannot sink!

In life, it’s not what’s in your boat that makes the difference, but who’s in your boat. When Jesus is in your boat, He is everything you need!

Beloved, this is God’s promise to you, “When you pass through the storms of life, I will be with you, and through great waters, you shall not drown” (Isaiah 43:2).

What storm are you currently facing in your life? – Relationship storm? Financial storm? Health storm? Emotional storm? Whatever the storm may be, don’t forget who’s in the boat with you – Jesus! So, I want you to brag on God today, and tell your storms, “I’ve got Jesus in this boat; my victory is sure!”

PRAYERS

1. I will not be overwhelmed by the storms of life. I will always come out victorious in Jesus Name.

2. Lord, teach me to be conscious of your ever-abiding presence, even in the most difficult times.

3. If you are not yet born-again, I want you to willingly receive Jesus into your boat today. (Prayer of salvation is on the last page).
