Text- Romans 1:28 – “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient”
Few years ago, someone brought my attention to a news that reads "Disney has announced that it will be producing its first animated feature film with two openly gay lead characters who will fall in love and, by the end of the film, even find happiness in a fairytale, same-sex wedding"
When I read the news, my heart was deeply troubled. Then I did some research on the story, and found out it was a fake news, but the writer of the story made a remarkable comment. In his words:
"I wrote it to push the issue of equality a little and also, I admit, to troll some of the haters out there. I am not certain that this helped at all, but I do hope that some of the enthusiasm shown for this post will cause some Hollywood notice."
From the above comment, it means the article was written with the hope that someone in Hollywood would notice, and probably take it up as a project. This shows how far people can go in pushing for filthiness. This is an example of a reprobate mind!
Though sin is bad enough, there are three categories of minds in the order of their entrenchment in sin, and their response when they are convicted of sin.
1. Repentant Minds.
These are sinners that have realized the sinfulness of their wrongdoing, and ate willing to turn a new leaf. Whenever a sinner repents, he finds forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 say that "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"
2. Remorseful Minds.
These sinners know that they are living in sin, they feel bad about their sins, yet, they enjoy the thrill of sin, and are not ready to change (at least not yet). Most sinners fall in this category. This was the case of the rich young ruler in Matthew 19:21-22 "Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions"
3. Reprobate Minds.
These ones are boastful sinners. They live in sin, they love the sin, and they boast about it. If you present the truth to them, you become an enemy; they do everything possible to sabotage Kingdom principles and those who practice them... These are enemies of the kingdom! Romans 1: 32, says about them, " Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them"
PRAYERS
1. Lord, I will forever retain my knowledge of God. Never will I become rebellious against your righteous restraints.
2. Lord, let my heart always melt before you. My heart will never become stony or hard against you Lord.
3. In the midst of perversions all around. Lord,help me not to be carried away with the tide of evil.
