In the Gospel of St Mark chapter 2, there was sick man suffering from palsy. He was carried by four of his friends to Jesus for him to be healed. Getting to the house where Jesus was, they were not able to get in because of the crowd. After struggling with the crowd, they finally decided climb upon the roof, uncover it, and lower their sick friend to Jesus.
The sick man was helped by friends because he could not do anything for himself. As Christians, many of us take our God to be that sick man who could not do anything for himself, and as a result we choose to help Him, instead of Him helping us.
God is not a sick or disabled man that needs our helping hand, but instead He chose to help to us. He never asked us to fight for Him, but instead He chose to fight for us.
He never asked us to die for Him, but instead He chose to die for us. Remember, the battle belongs to the Lord, not us.
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." Isaiah 41:10 KJV
The Lord is your very help, your very strength, your very comfort, and your very refuge in Christ Jesus!
