Text -Ephesians 6:12
“12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (KJV)
Many times we get asked the question, “who is your enemy?” Many individuals would tend to point an alleged companion, neighbor, relative, partner or even advance sibling(s), yet what we neglect to comprehend is that we are missing the point! Our foe isn't the individual tormenting us as we would think .
The Bible lets us know in the above scripture that we wrestle not against flesh (fragile living creature) and blood, which means to state that our fight isn't centered around a human and by that has substance (the body) and blood (life) so this consequently as of now disqualifies mankind or man from being the adversary. The scripture went further to uncover our real foe, “but against principality, powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”
Who are these principalities? - the rulers of darkness and the spiritual wickedness in high places - The devil and his cohort!
It's about time that we directed our concentration toward the genuine adversary and not the individual the foe is utilizing!
The inquiry is how would we accomplish that?
We can do this through:
1. Prayer:
You may ponder "what does prayer have to do with battling the genuine foe? Is it not an exercise in futility when I can confront the foe myself? " well it has a great deal to do with it on the grounds that recollect that we are not managing fragile living creatures and blood so we have to utilize the weapon of prayer to fight the spiritual warfare. The Bible underlines supplication in
1 Pet. 5:8-9."Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith."
I bet you would prefer not to be caught off guard, the devil is like a thief so he can come in whenever sudden and that is the reason we ought be prepared at all times. Prayer is the device in winning fights against the enemy. Prayer makes us profoundly fit to oppose each arrow of the foe, it watches us with the defensive layer of God, it unravels the plans of the adversary and lastly, when we implore, God mediates and battles our fights. We need to take our ground as bold Christians with authority over the power of the enemy and reprimand the devil in the name of Jesus!
2. The word of God:
Ephesian 6 :7
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
Use what is composed in the Word to stand against the devil (enemy). Keep in mind even Jesus did likewise in Matthew 4:4 "It is written.." There is power (control) in the Word of God!
3. Submit totally
James 4:7 tells us to submit ourselves to the Lord, resist the devil (shut down each contact or connection with him) and it will flee from us.
Submission to the expert of Jesus is necessary to have the capacity to stand firm in the battle.
This demonstrates a total surrender to His lordship over your lives, enabling or allowing him to take full responsibility without hindering him; some of the time we tell God to take the wheel in our lives, however, when He comes we tend to give Him guidelines on the most proficient method to go about it. Let the will of Him who has called you supplant your own particular will. Surrender your fights to Jesus and He will battle it for your sake, remember the battle is not our's but the Lord’s.
The Devil recognizes that you are God’s very own, therefore; he attempts distinctive plans to get you off track and fall. That is the reason when we battle the wrong enemy the devil ends up winning the battle.
Wake up! Perceive the genuine enemy! fight that profoundly fight that has been a fortress in the light of the fact that without Prayer you can't conquer the enemy. Try not to give him a chance to have his way, you have a more prominent specialist in the name of Jesus!
