Daily Tonic || Full Of Eyes

Text- Revelation 4:6, 8- “And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes; eyes to look ahead, eyes to look behind… They were full of eyes, seeing around and within.”

The text above was part of the description of what John the beloved saw around the Throne Room of God. The fact that these four living creatures were full of eyes is really fascinating… of all parts of the body, why eyes?

But it doesn’t end here; John records four things that these eyes are for… He called them:

1. Eyes to look ahead 2. Eyes to look behind 3. Eyes seeing around 4. Eyes seeing within

If the creatures that are round about the throne of God are full of eyes, then it means the closer you get to that throne, the more you need eyes that can both look (decision and action) and see (sensitivity and sensibility).

Today, I’ll start with EYES TO LOOK AHEAD.

Without doubts, God has a purpose for your life. However, God’s purpose for your life must become your vision in life. Until this happens, the purpose cannot translate into tangible realities in your life. The equation of destiny can only be balanced when God's Purpose = Your vision.

After you have caught a glimpse (vision) of God’s purpose for your life, you must begin to project properly into your future, where what you have seen will become a reality. Until this happens you cannot actualize the vision. This is where the eyes to look ahead come in – it is that eyes with which you project into the future.

One major key however, in looking ahead is to look from where you are. This is very very important! In fact if you forget every other thing, make sure you never forget this, because any vision that is not in touch with reality is only a set-up for an adventure into frustration.

Whenever God shows you the future, he bids you to look from where you are. See what God told Abram in Genesis 13:14 – “And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art”… You see, a genuine vision will not overlook present circumstances. A genuine vision overcomes present circumstances.

Ask yourself today. Where do I see myself in the next 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years etc.? Then ask, what am I doing now to be able to get me there? These are very important questions that can help you project into the future, so that you can actualize your vision, and fulfil God’s purpose.

PRAYERS

1. Lord, please help me to catch a vision of your divine purpose for my life.

2. Lord, give me the eyes to look ahead. So that I can project properly into the future in order to fulfil your purpose.

3. Lord, help me to be realistic in my projections and goal setting, so that I will end up in frustration.
