Daily Tonic || Full Of Eyes (2)

Text- Revelation 4:6, 8- “And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes; eyes to look ahead, eyes to look behind… They were full of eyes, seeing around and within.”

Yesterday, we started talking about this subject, explaining why we must be full of eyes, and what those eyes must be used for. We said firstly, we need eyes to look ahead, and we discussed some few things on that.

Continuing on the eyes to look ahead, today we will talk about the FOUR COMPONENTS OF THE EYES TO LOOK AHEAD.

1. The eyes of the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 2:9-10 says, “However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him— these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.

The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.” The eyes of the Spirit is the component eyes with which you will see the deep things of God to you. It is the eyes that will catch a glimpse of God’s purpose and turn it to your vision. It is through the steady discipline of prayer, that the eyes of the spirit are sharpened.

2. The eyes of Faith

Hebrews 12:2 gives us a vivid picture of the eyes of Faith, it says “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

The eyes of Faith is always fixed on the future ahead, and makes it looks so real even when you are not there yet. The eyes of faith gives the assurance that you are on your way to a glorious future, and wades through all the storm that may come along the way.

3. The eyes of hope

2 Corinthians 4:18 says, “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” … That’s the function of the eyes of hope; it’s quite similar to the eyes of Faith, and they both somewhat interwoven, but there’s a subtle difference.

While the eyes of Faith make you conquer the storms you face along the way, the eyes of hope energize you to survive the storm, with optimism that your fight of faith will not be in vain.

4. The eyes of wisdom.

Ecclesiastes 10:15 says, “The labor of the foolish wearies every one of them, because he knows not how to go to the city.” The eyes of wisdom will aid you in viewing every little step on your journey to purpose, so that you can strategize correctly per time. It also checkmates the passion and the zeal that the vision will put inside you, son that you don’t crash di=ue to over-zealousness.

If you will see correctly into the future, and indeed actualize what you are seeing, you need these four components of the eyes to look ahead, working in concert.

PRAYERS

1. Lord, help me to see through the eyes of the Spirit, the things that you have prepared for me in this life.

2. Lord, help me to see through the eyes of faith and the eyes of hope, so that nothing will be able to stop me as I journey towards fulfilling your purpose.

3. Lord, please give me the eyes of wisdom, so that my life will not be wearisome.
