Daily Tonic || Give Him your Lifetime

Text- 2 Corinthians 5:15 - “And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.”

Consequent to understanding the place of Jesus as your Lord, your sense of commitment to Him must be such that you are ready to go all the way with Him. This is what it means to give Him, not just your life, but also your entire lifetime.

What I mean by giving Christ your lifetime is that you cross the Rubicon, that is, the point of no return; the point where your lifetime is entirely given to the purpose of God. Peter explained this thus in 1 Peter 4:2:

“As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.”

It is when you have yielded your lifetime to God that you can take unthinkable risks for the sake of His name. At that point, there is basically no risk too big for you to take for God… even when it may mean death!

Have you ever wondered at men who dared all odds to preach the gospel?; men who spent themselves bearing the banner of Christ, men who were willing to lay down their lives for the sake of this Gospel… Have you ever what happened to these men? Simply, they turned over their lifetime to Christ.

Beloved, the Value of your life is determined by what/who you have given your lifetime to. A driver to the president is an executive driver because of who he drives! What creates the distinction between a road side cook and a white-house chef is who they are serving.

Just like Apostle Paul said in Philippians 3:7 “But those things which were profit to me, I gave up for Christ” I want to admonish you today to give your lifetime to Christ. Be willing and ready to go all the way for the sake of His name and His glorious gospel.

Remember David in 1Sam 17- At the valley of Elah, when he was only a young boy; He challenged Goliath, the uncircumcised Giant, who had gone about defying the armies of the living God.

While others were protecting their lives, David was jealous for the dignity of God, even at the expense of his life! Acts 13:22 says that David obediently did God's will in his own time. David served the counsel of God in his lifetime!

Beloved, what are you going to do with your own lifetime?

PRAYER

Lord I give you my lifetime; I make a commitment to be irrevocably committed to your will. Wherever you lead, I will go. Whatever you say, I will do.
