"And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; " Romans 4:19-20 KJV.
This was what the Word of God said concerning Abraham. He received God's call and promise when he was very old. The Bible tells us,
"And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be the father of a multitude of nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for the father of a multitude of nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee" -Genesis 17:1-6 ASV.
The LORD changed his name from Abram to Abraham because He said, For the father of a multitude of nations have I made thee. This took place when he was ninety-nine years old.
In the New Testament, Apostle Paul tells about Abraham;
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness (Romans 4:17-22).
There were three physical facts about Abraham's condition here. His body was dead, Sarah's womb was dead (no hope of conception) and they were both well advanced in years. But let us look at how Abraham overcame the situation and had God's promise fulfilled in his life:
1) He was not weak in faith. 2) Against hope, he believed in hope. 3) He did not consider his dead body nor the deadness of Sarah's womb. 4) He did not stagger at God's Word through unbelief. 5) He was strong in faith. 6) He gave glory to God ahead of time. 7) He was fully persuaded that God will perform what He has promised.
He did not allow the physical evidences to shake him. His faith was so strong and his consideration was always on God.
In the midst of hopeless situations, refuse to consider and be weighed down by those circumstances. Consider the Word of God and its ability to produce for you what it said.
So, don't just sit down and think that hopeless situations will change by itself. The Bible says, "FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH, LAY HOLD OF ETERNAL TO WHICH YOU WERE CALLED" (1 Timothy 6:12).
So, use your faith against that hopeless and rebellious situation. With that strong faith like Abraham's, you will prevail and have prophecy fulfilled. That is your heritage in Christ_ victory all the way.
Glory to God! God bless and keep you.
