Text- Hebrews 1:13-14 – "But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thy enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”
For some days now, we have been talking about the ministry of angels. I believe it has been an interesting and enlightening topic so far, and you have been blessed tremendously.
We have discussed the reality of the existence and ministry of angels and their peculiar ministry towards the heirs of salvation. So far, we have discussed four of their seven ministries: Intervention, Admonition, Revelation and Execution.
Today, we will discuss yet another
5. Transmission
Revelation 8:3-4 is very instructive as regards the angelic ministry of transmission – ascending with our prayers up before God in heaven.
“And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand”
Whenever you pray as a believer, angels are there to transmit your prayers before the altar in heaven. But their ministry of transmission doesn’t end there, they also descend with answers to our prayers. We get an insight to this in the story of Daniel.
Daniel was earnestly praying for the freedom of Israel from captivity because the set time for their release had come. While he was in prayer one day, the angel Gabriel showed up and said to him, “The moment you began praying, a command was given. I am here to tell you what it was, for God loves you very much” (Daniel 9:23)
In another instance as we see in Daniel 10:12, an angel appeared to Daniel and said to him, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer.”
So you see, angels ascend with our prayers, and descend with answers. It is one of their ministries towards us, the heirs of salvation. Make the best of their ministry in your prayer life.
PRAYER
Lord, please give me more understanding of the reality of the existence of angels, and help me to fully maximize their ministry of transmission in my prayer life in Jesus Name.
