Text- Hebrews 1:13-14 – "But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thy enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”
I like how The Living Bible renders our text. Verse 14 says “…The angels are only spirit-messengers sent out to help those who are to receive salvation”. The Amplified version says they are sent to serve us!
We have discussed five of the seven ministries of angels for us as believers:
1. Intervention
2. Admonition
3. Revelation
4. Execution
5. Transmission
Today I will round off with the remaining two
6. Jubilation
Angels love rejoicing, and they cease every opportunity to rejoice with mankind. Even the most little successes and breakthroughs we experience elate them.
In Luke 2:13, we read that the angels jubilated at the birth of Jesus. Even Jesus himself said in Luke 15:10 that the angels rejoice whenever a sinner repents. When you overcome temptation, they rejoice.
When you repent of a sin you committed, they rejoice. When you lead a soul to Christ, they rejoice. When you finally stop being lazy, and wake up early, they rejoice!
Beloved, if nobody on earth is cheering you on. Don’t you worry, there are myriads of angels rejoicing over every of your little success, progress, achievements etc.
7. Congregation
The writer of Hebrews says in Hebrews 12:22, “But ye are come to mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels”
You see, every time we gather before God in Zion, angels gather with us; they are always part of the congregation. When God’s people gather, especially to worship and to pray, angels congregate with us… heaven opens and the heavenly hosts of God begin to congregate with the earthly host.
Beloved, Church is not ordinary! It’s like heaven on earth. There is an innumerable company of angels there present; that is why all the other ministries of angels are highly concentrated in Church gatherings.
As you go to Church today, I want you stay conscious of this fact; bear it in mind; be in perfect awe of God, and of his Holy presence and maximize the ministries of the innumerable company of angels there present.
PRAYER
Lord, please give me more understanding of the reality of the existence of angels, and help me to fully maximize their ministry of transmission in my prayer life in Jesus Name
