Daily Tonic || The Answer of Joy (3)

Text- Proverbs 15:23 “A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!”

If you have followed the teachings in the past few days, you will come to realize that when it comes to divine leading, there are two basic ways God confirms His leading – Peace and Joy!

These two must go hand in hand. Joy is usually validated by peace, and peace is usually validated by joy… and together, they confirm the leading of God. Even if you hear an audible voice, and you lose either your peace or your joy, set it aside. That voice is not the voice of God.

If you're excited, but there's no peace in your heart, set the matter aside; and if there's peace in your heart, but there’s this sense of coldness, set the matter aside. The combination of joy and peace is what assures us of God's involvement and guidance.

With the spiritual consciousness of God's leading and guidance, there comes a feeling and filling of joy in your spirit man which no sorrow could ever overcome.

God gives this unusual sense of Joy and peace to suppress doubts and fears, through the powerful working of the Holy Spirit. When this happens, follow through against all odds; you are being led by God.

Understand that I'm not talking about times that you are trying to convince yourself to take risks, or arguing against visible and palpable facts... What I'm talking about is a working of the Holy Spirit.

Paul wrote to the Romans in Romans 15:13, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing”. This means in fact, that joy and peace in your inner man is the affirmation of the Spirit that your faith is being released in the direction of God's will.

Joy and peace make up the binoculars with which the Christian looks towards the future that God has patterned for him. As you look into your future, anything that cannot be seen through the binoculars of joy and peace is not of God.

The reason why this is so, is that God's leading supplies satisfaction for all the deepest desires of our being. The capacities of the whole man are fulfilled in it, and the result is fullness of joy.

The eliciting of joy within our spirit is one of the ways God leads us. Be more conscious of it, and be more sensitive to it as you daily walk in the will of God.

PRAYER

Father, please help me to be more sensitive to your voice and to the leadings of your Spirit as you speak to me through Joy in my spirit in Jesus Name.
