Daily Tonic || The Answer of Joy (2)

Text- Proverbs 15:23 “A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!”

Yesterday while introducing this topic, I mentioned that coupled with inner peace, there usually would be a release of joy in your spirit when God is leading you in a particular direction.

You see, when God is leading us into a thing, our joy will be full, and our peace secured. The leading of God is usually confirmed by that feeling of inexplicable joy and peace that passes all understanding which is wrought in us by the presence and influence of the Holy Spirit.

Conversely, when there's a feeling of sadness and heaviness each time you contemplate a matter, it shows that there’s a restraint in the spirit.

Take for example, if you're planning your wedding, or you're discussing marriage plans with your Fiance/Fiancée, and you suddenly discover that you're not excited about the whole thing, take a pause and pray to be sure if you’re in the will of God.

When a matter is pleasing to God, it elicits peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. These show the approval of God, and even if the opinion of others differ, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost are good enough grounds to dismiss their concerns.

Jesus said in John 17:13, ““Now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.” The joy he referred to is that joy that saw him through all the sorrows and pains of his earthly ministry and eventual crucifixion.

That joy came from the never-failing source of the Father's presence with Him. That joy was so certain that even when Peter rebuked him for wanting to die a vicious death, He dismissed him immediately. (Matthew 16:23).

The language of joy is the principle behind what motivational speakers say, "Find what excites you", "Do what you enjoy doing" etc. That's quite a gamble for an unbeliever though, but for a believer, it's one way to ascertain the leading of God in a given direction.

There's usually this excitement that wells up in your spirit man when you step on a road that God has predestined for you.

There are times that what you have been praying for guidance over has already been settled by the language of Joy, but you didn't perceive it because you did not know that’s one way God confirms His leading.

Train yourself to recognize God’s answer of joy, and watch out for it as you trust God for divine leading and guidance in your life daily.

PRAYER

Father, please help me to be more sensitive to your voice and to the leadings of your Spirit as you speak to me through Joy in my spirit in Jesus Name.
