Text- Acts 15:6 – “And the apostles and elders came together for to consider this matter.”
If you want to leverage the minutest details of your life towards living a highperformance life; a life that is fully maximized, full of awesomeness, then you must practice intentional living. This means that you must be intentional about the things you do, as well as how, why and when you are doing them. That is what this series is all about. Yesterday we started off with the importance of considering the purpose of every matter.
Take for example, if you want to marry because you need someone to take care of your bills, what you really need is a job, not a husband. Same goes for a man that wants to marry because he needs someone to give him good meals; he really doesn’t need a wife, what he needs is a cook. It’s the question of purpose!
Once we have settled the issue of purpose, the next this is to consider the PROBLEMS
This simply means counting the cost. We must consider the challenges and risks involved in a matter before dabbling into it. We should examine whether or not it’s a risk worth taking, and whether or not we are up to the challenge, so that we do not launch out and hit rock bottom.
See how Jesus explains this in Luke 14:28-32:
For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’?
Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace.
You should research on the ‘problems’ of marriage before you start planning your wedding; You should consider the challenges of ministry before launching out; You should find out the drawbacks of a place before relocating there; beloved, consider the problems… count the cost!
You will make considerable progress with lesser mistakes in your life by considering the pros and cons of a matter before you venture into it.
PRAYER
Father, please grant me grace to rightly consider every matter, make the best out of every situation, and live a high-performance life for your praise and for your glory. I will make significant progress with lesser mistakes in life in Jesus Name.
