Who is the Holy Spirit? (2)

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you"

-John 14:16-17

We started looking at Who is the Holy Spirit and we shall continue today. The importance of knowing and walking with the Holy Ghost cannot be over-emphasized. Your relationship with the Holy Spirit will determine the kind of life you will live.

Now the Holy Spirit has a ministry (work) in the kingdom, the Church and the individual members of the Church. You are the one to avail yourself to the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. And we will look at the work (ministry) of the Holy Spirit in the believer's life.

From the opening verses, Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit as the Comforter. "Comforter" from the Greek language has several synonyms. And we'll look at those synonyms from the Amplified version;

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever– (John 14:16 Amp).

The Holy Spirit is the Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener and Standby. Now you imagine if you experience all these works of the Holy Spirit in your life. You will never be the same again. Praise God!

The ministry of the Holy Spirit is not necessarily to burn the works of demons as some people assume. And His power is not mainly to destroy or break yokes. His ministry is mainly towards us. The Holy Spirit came so that He will enable us to live the life of Christ and to fulfil the assignment of the Kingdom.

Be determined to accept His ministry in your life because you need Him in all that concerns you_ spiritual, physical, mental, economical, academics, relationships, etc. He is God and He knows the best for you. Be hungry for the Holy Spirit like you would get hungry for other things that you want.

Never allow anything in this world take your attention more than the the Holy Spirit. Sanctify Him in all that concerns you and you will see His glory move in through you. This is what the Word of God says,

Proverbs: 3. 5. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. vs 6. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

You see that? He wants us to lean on the Lord (the Holy Spirit). And in all our ways (thoughts, words, actions and decisions) we should recognize the Holy Spirit and He'll make our paths straight. Praise God!

The Spirit is still the most relevant today and He desires your prosperity more than you do. Praise God!

PRAYER Precious Holy Spirit, I thank You for Your ministry in my life as my Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby. Thank You for greatly beautifying my life with Your glory. In Jesus' mighty Name. Amen!
