Who is the Holy Spirit?

1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

The subject of the Holy in the Church is very important and this is because the Holy Spirit is the God we have here on earth with us. Jesus and the Father are in heaven.

So Who is the Holy Spirit?

1) The Holy Spirit is the third Person in the Godhead that is revealed to us (1 John 5:7)

2) The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God (Genesis 1:3).

3) The Holy Spirit is a Person ( I am not saying that He's a human being ). He's Person means that He can love and He has emotions and can be related with. HE IS NOT A DOVE.

4) He is the Angel of God's presence. That means He's the Messenger of God_ the One Who brings God's presence to our lives (Isaiah 63:9-10).

5) He's the God called to go alongside us as our Helper (John 14:16).

The Holy Spirit is real. He has a personality (He can feel, talk, understand, be grieved, etc). He is equal to God the Father and God the Son in sovereignty, glory and power. He's not less.

Knowing and understanding the Holy Spirit as a Christian is very important. This is because there is no genuine Christian life without the Holy Spirit. If you study the life of Jesus Christ, you will realize that He lived His life by the Holy Spirit. This is what the Bible says about Jesus Christ;

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (Acts 10:38).

So all that Jesus did was by the Holy Spirit and His power. There are Christians who really don't believe in the reality and personality of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ spoke a lot about the Holy Spirit and His existence but some so-called Christian don't accept what Jesus Christ said about the Holy Spirit. I dare say that they're not Christians.

From the genesis of creation, we saw the Spirit of right there carrying out the job of recreation. This is what Job 26:13 tells about the Holy Spirit,

"By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent" (Job 26:13).

God beautified the heavens by the Holy Spirit. If there is anything we should know in this world, it is the Holy Spirit. No Kingdom achievement can be made without the Holy Spirit. No knowledge of God and of truth can be achieved without the Holy Spirit.

Make up your spirit, soul and body to know and understand the Holy Spirit. Spend time and communicate with Him in the place of prayer like you would communicate with your friend. Spend time with the Word of God because He speaks the language of God's Word. Be hungry for Him.

Praise God!

PRAYER

Precious Holy Spirit, I know that You're the God that came to walk alongside me as my all round Helper. I thank You because You're real and great. I magnify and worship You today. Thank You for revealing Yourself daily to me. Great are You Lord, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
