Daily Tonic || You Can Beat the Devil

Text- Romans 16:20 "And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen"

As we see in today’s text, the Bible clearly states that the place of the devil is under the feet of the believer in Christ.

Further in Luke 9:1, the Bible clearly establishes that we have been given the power and authority over the devil. It says, “Then he (Jesus) called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils…”

We also hear Jesus say in in Luke 10:19, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”

Beloved, Jesus has given us power over all devils and over all the power of the enemy! Unfortunately, many Christians still have a secret regard for the devil; that regard is what translates as ‘fear’

Bible says that the serpent was more subtle (Genesis 3:1) -not more powerful. Hear this, you can beat the devil! Colossians 2:15 says “And having spoiled (stripped) principalities and powers, He (Jesus) made a show of them openly (He put them to open shame), triumphing over them in it”

If you begin to hear some strange sounds in the middle of the night or if you physically come across occult people, practices, materials etc. what will you do? Would you become troubled and afraid? You absolutely should not!

In Genesis 3:15, God pronounced that the seed of man shall crush the head of the serpent and that the serpent shall only bruise his heel. Can you dare to play this game with a friend? - Match his leg as hard as you can, use the whole of your strength!

After that, put down your head and let him match it as hard as he can- I doubt if you will live to tell the story! That is the same way you have been empowered to always beat the devil hands down regardless of the assault he may bring against you.

The key however, to beat the devil hands down in all situations and at all times is written in James 4:7- “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”

Other translations render it thus: Be subject therefore unto God (ASV); Be ruled by God (BBE).

That’s all you need! Submit yourself to God, be subject to Him and be ruled by Him… and the God of peace shall bruise (crush) the adversary under your feet shortly (quickly, speedily, before long).

I don’t know what you may be facing today; beloved be encouraged, stay under the ruling hand of God. No physical condition can change your spiritual position. Remain subject to God and keep on resisting the devil, He will flee from you!

PRAYER

Evermore Lord, cause me to always triumph in Christ, and make manifest the fragrance of your knowledge by me in every place. I resist the devil today. I take authority over fear, and I take my place is power and in victory in Jesus Name.
