Text- Revelations 5:12 – “Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing”
I believe we all can feel the aura of Easter already – the season where we celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord, and savior Jesus Christ.
Yes, Jesus died for us! And this has great significance. There are any verses of scripture that talk about the value and the benefits of Christ’s death to us. Our text today is one of such.
In commemorating this season, I will share a poem I wrote on the seven things Jesus was slain to receive, as stated in the text – power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.
You see the good thing is that Jesus did not need any of these things. He received them on our behalves, so that these seven things will become our inheritance as joint heirs with Him.
He was slain to receive power
The hold of sin for us to conquer
Daily causing us to wax stronger
His Name is a very strong tower Under
His wings we take shelter
He hides us secure in His quiver
He reigneth, let the earth quaver
He was slain to receive riches
In Him, there's all-round increase
He daily loads us with benefits With Him, there are never losses
With Him, you've got no worries Just an array of unending privileges
All these with tangible evidences
He was slain to receive wisdom
The wisdom of God's eternal Kingdom
Wisdom which is altogether awesome
Which in its essence, is truly wholesome
This age's princes knew not this wisdom
By it, we obtained our total freedom
A mystery hell still can't phantom
PRAYERS
1. Jesus was slain to receive power for me, so from today, I begin to walk in power in Jesus Name.
2. Jesus was slain to receive riches for me, so I come against lack, want and insufficiency in Jesus Name.
3. Jesus was slain to receive wisdom for me, so counsel and sound wisdom is mine from today in Jesus Name.
