Jesus Christ called the Pharisees (religious leaders) whitewashed tombs. To give you a clearer picture of what a whitewashed tomb looks like i will give you a brief description; whitewashed tombs are clean, white-painted and decorated tombs that are literally rotting and decaying body or remains deep inside the tomb.
One of the things that has crippled and destroyed us is that we have many whitewashed tombs living amongst us and even ruling us. Whitewashed tombs are those people who care about how they look outwardly, and also how others see them. They look holy and closer to God, but sadly inside their hearts harbor anger, discrimination, lust, idolatry, adultery, stealing, and many other sinful things.
God desires us to be clean and made pure. The will of God is for you to be cleansed in and out and made pure inside. The only "soap" to clean us from the inside is the Word of God, which is Jesus Christ.
"Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you." - John 15:3 KJV
Beloved, people may call you unclean or other nasty adjectives just because you don't do what they do, that doesn't mean that you are not clean in God's sight. As long as you have the Word of God(Jesus) in you and do what is right in His sight, you are clean.
Always remember that you are the son and the daughter of God.
