Text- 2 Corinthians 10:4 – “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds”
A stronghold is a protected place where the members of a military group stay and can defend themselves against attacks. From that definition, we can infer what a demonic stronghold is – A place where demons can stay, secure from all attempts to be subdued.
The word, ‘stronghold’ is used only once in the New Testament, and the only thing that Bible said to us concerning strongholds is to pull them down – “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds” (2 Cor. 10:4)
There are a lot of people, families and even nations on this earth that are victims of demonic strongholds, though they may not even be aware of it. Many born again, tongue-talking Christians are still grappling with strongholds because they have refused to engage the weapons of spiritual warfare in pulling them down.
Unfortunately, the devil has somehow succeeded in convincing the 21st century believer not to believe all these ‘crap’ about demons. The believer has been deceived to think that all the problems he encounters on this earth – illnesses, defeats, depression, etc.) have nothing to do with demonic powers.
Many argue on the premise of “New creation realities”. They fail to realize that even Paul who taught us new creation realities still had to deal with the devil time and time again in his apostolic ministry.
One of such is recorded in 1 Thess. 2:18 – “Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but satan hindered us”
There are demonic strongholds in different lives, or even from their families and vicinities, that keep harming them, wrecking their spiritual lives, complicating their relationships, ruining their finances, breaking their homes, stealing their joy, taking their lives and so on! But the devil has suggested therapy and counselling in place of deliverance!
Paul said in 2 Corinthians 2:11, “Lest satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices”.
Beloved, you must not be ignorant of the schemes and devises of satan to cow us under, and have a field day in our lives, families and vicinity. You must engage the weapons of your spiritual warfare, and pull down every demonic stronghold.
Don’t allow the devil to have a free course in your life; don’t permit him to ravage your family while you slumber; don’t watch while he takes charge of your street, town, city or nation. Say NO to demonic strongholds in your life, family and vicinity!
Fight! Remember, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.
PRAYER
I pull down every demonic stronghold in my life, family and vicinity today. I issue a ‘cease and desist’ order against even activity of demons in my life, family and vicinity in the name of Jesus.
