Text- Isaiah 54:2-3 – “Enlarge the place of your tent; stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords; strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left…”
God needs your cooperation in order to do anything tangible in your life. The thing is this; life operates on principles. So even if you get something by miracle, it will take more than a miracle to sustain it.
Any structure that will last long must have a very strong foundation. That is why your preparation is very necessary in order to step fully into the things that God has planned and purposed for you.
Actually, God is also involved in the preparation process. He doesn’t leave you to do it all by yourself, but you must cooperate with the process.
Why many people miss preparation is because it is not flashy and may not be very glaring. God sometimes uses little and seemingly insignificant things to prepare us. I’ll talk a little bit more on this tomorrow.
Yesterday, I said you must enlarge the place of your tent if you will be great. In other words, the quality and capacity of your heart must be enlarged. Today we will look at yet another way you should prepare as contained in our text.
2. Stretch your tent curtains wide
Having worked on the quality and capacity of your heart, you must begin to exert yourself. Stretch yourself wide; do not hold back! Do not be lenient on yourself; don’t indulge yourself in any way… go all out!
The truth is, sometimes you will have to work till the wee hours of the morning. Sometimes, you will have to forfeit sleep and pleasure. Sometimes you will have to engage your mind in critical thinking.
Bible says in Proverbs 22:29, “Have you seen a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”
You definitely will have to stretch yourself one way or the other if you will achieve greatness. You can’t afford to remain in your comfort zone, or play the game of convenience.
With God, greatness is sure. But it is not cheap. You’ve got to pay the price. As you lay hold on God’s promises, make sure to stretch yourself beyond the limits of your comfort and convenience.

PRAYER
Father, I commit to work diligently and to stretch myself beyond the limits of my comfort and convenience. Help me so to do Lord, grant me grace to be effective and urge me on by your Holy Spirit in Jesus Name.
