"Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;" (1 Corinthians 13:5).
One of the main reasons why many desire a certain great blessing and do not end up having it is because they never appreciate those that have it in the first place. They become jealous and envious of those that have it. They are not happy that someone different from them has it. That is a selfish and ungodly character.
Whatever blessing you desire, you must appreciate those that have it. That is the manifestation of God's love. When you appreciate others, you become qualified to have that which you desire.
Learn to thank God for those that you see making headways and you seem not to. Never be covetous and end up thinking that you deserve it more than the one that has it. You cannot deserve a particular blessing more than another child of God. That also is a manifestation of pride.
There are those who even castigate and despise others who have what they have been looking for. With that attitude, they cannot have what they desire. Why? It is because they have a wrong motive and attitude towards others and God has seen their hearts. If you desire to sing well, teach or preach God's Word well, manifest God's power, have success, and you know someone that has it, bless God for that, and do not try to compete with them. God hates competition. Do not even compete with those that were below you and are now going higher than you. Still appreciate them. The result of appreciation is appreciation.
When you lift up others in their achievements, in due time, God will lift you too. All you need to do is to humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and He will exalt you in due time (1 Peter 5:6).
This is the kind of life we should live as God's children, and not the contrary. Apostle James tells us,
"For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work" (James 3:16).
So, do not give channel to envy and strife that will result in confusion and every evil work. Appreciate others always and God will bless you. Hallelujah! God bless you.
